The refrigerated section opens through the side sliding door – free, normal cargo space remains next to it.
Transporting chilled goods, but it isn't worth buying or leasing your own refrigerated vehicle? We can provide the Opel Vivaro, the Toyota ProAce Van and the Toyota ProAce Max with a 1000-litre refrigerated cargo area, and you can rent it just as easily as any of our other cars.
The difference between them is not the cooling but the size of the vehicle: the Vivaro and the ProAce Van are the classic size for city deliveries – large enough for a daily round, yet easy to drive and park – while the ProAce Max comes in when a lot of normal cargo travels alongside the chilled goods. All of them have a wide side sliding door, so at every stop it is enough to pull over; you don't have to open the rear doors towards traffic.
The refrigerated section is a built-in, insulated cargo box inside the load area. Its temperature can be set anywhere between +2 and +25 °C, it runs off the vehicle's system while driving and off a 230 V socket when stationary – so it can be pre-cooled at the warehouse and the goods don't warm up during unloading. Free cargo space remains next to it for non-chilled packages and equipment.
The van can be driven on a category B licence, and the refrigerated cargo box is not a permanent modification to the vehicle – which is why we can hand it over even for a single day.
For those who occasionally – for an event, a season, a larger order – need refrigerated transport, and don't want to keep a separate vehicle for it.
Who it may not be ideal for: if you only carry a few boxes over a short distance, a good cool box with ice packs is a cheaper solution. A refrigerated van pays off where the temperature has to be held for hours – or where a spoiled load costs more than the rental itself. If you don't need cooling, take a look at the Standard Van category: same size, at a lower daily rate.
The refrigerated cargo box is the same size and capability in all of them – they differ in how much normal cargo space is left beside it.
For city rounds: easy to drive, easy to park.
If there are many stops and narrow streets, this is the most convenient choice.
Same size class, same loading logic.
The refrigerated section goes into the front half of the load area, with room for the rest of the cargo behind it.
Large van: chilled and normal cargo in one trip.
Significant free cargo space remains beside the refrigerated section – good when the load is mixed.
The refrigerated cargo box is an insulated, lockable unit that we fix into the load area. We don't cut or drill into the bodywork, so at the end of the rental the vehicle returns to a normal van without a trace. We build the cooling technology together with VebaBox Hungary.

The ProAce Max is the largest van in our fleet. The refrigerated cargo box is 1000 litres here too, but so much free cargo space remains beside it that the non-chilled load fits alongside the chilled goods – in a single trip.
Type of goods, temperature, quantity and length of rental – from this we can tell you which size you need.
ProAce Van or Vivaro with the 1000-litre refrigerated cargo area – or a large van if you need more.
Enter your details and confirm the booking. You can request pre-cooling in the notes.
At handover we show you the controls and the mains connection – after that you're on your way.
No. Both the Toyota ProAce Van and the Opel Vivaro have a maximum authorised mass under 3500 kg, so they can be driven on a category B licence, like any of our passenger cars.
While driving it runs off the vehicle's system. If you stop for longer – loading, an overnight stop – it needs to be connected to a 230 V socket, and we add the cable. If there is no power on site, mention it when booking and we solve it with a battery unit.
Yes, if you mention it when booking. That way the first hours aren't spent cooling down the cargo box, and you can set off straight away at the set temperature.
Yes. The 1000-litre refrigerated section takes up part of the load area; the rest can be used as normal cargo space – for transport equipment, empty crates and packages.
Yes. The cargo box holds the set temperature accurately, which is the basic requirement for food and pharmaceutical transport. However, the permits required for your activity, the HACCP documentation and temperature logging are your responsibility – if you need a separate data logger, let us know when booking.
The 1000-litre version is the fastest, because we keep it ready. For a different size or a freezing requirement, the preparation must be arranged in advance – fill in the custom request form and we'll see what we can offer.
The refrigerated cargo box is the same in all of them, so the question is how much normal cargo travels alongside. If there is only chilled cargo, the Vivaro or the ProAce Van is more convenient in the city. If a lot else travels alongside the chilled goods, choose the ProAce Max.
Yes, for a season and for months too – and the longer the rental, the lower the daily rate. For long-term needs we prepare a separate quote.
We can provide the vans above with a 1000-litre refrigerated cargo area. If you need a larger or smaller refrigerated space, a different temperature or a different type of vehicle, fill in the form – our colleague will contact you and we'll see what we can put together.
